Become a Docent
If you enjoy history, talking with groups of people, working on exciting events, and making new friends then being a docent at Kimberly Crest House & Gardens may be a great fit for you! Members of our Docent Auxiliary not only give guided tours, they also work on exciting events such as Princess at the Castle and Tea on the Terrace. From decorating at Christmas time to going on an annual docent trip, our volunteers are always doing something fun.
The primary role of a docent is to provide educational tours of Kimberly Crest. Docents also organize fundraising events for the purpose of providing financial assistance to Kimberly Crest. Training sessions will provide instruction on the art, architecture and history of Kimberly Crest. Additionally, new volunteers will receive training on the skills and responsibilities of docents, including presentation techniques, tips for working with visitors and volunteer policies.
Upon completion of training, docents are asked to volunteer at least 3 hours per month guiding tours or providing guest services in the Gift Shop/Museum.
Docent training takes place yearly in February. If you are interested in more information about being a docent please complete the Volunteer Application and email it to Docents@KimberlyCrest.Org or call the office at 909-792-2111.
